For seepage to moderate loss, a self-sealing pill can be used. X-TRA Seal M can surface-seal a fracture up to the size of 1.5mm, or deep-seal larger fractures.

It is designed to plug void spaces or channels, thereby preventing or reducing whole mud losses to porous, vugular or fractured formations. It has a wide range of particle size and shapes to enhance its sealing ability. this product is strong and resilient; they
will not readily disintegrate during circulation and applicable in both water-based, synthetic/oil-based muds.
X-TRA Seal M is easily applied as a one-sack product and creates an effective pressure seal at significantly lower concentrations than is normal for these applications.
